Their are many beautiful and naturtal sites to see in the United States. One of the most amazing sites that you will ever be able to see is the vastness of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is more than a great chasm carved over millennia through the rocks of the Colorado Plateau. It is more than an awe-inspiring view. It is more than a pleasuring ground for those who explore the roads, hike the trails, or float the currents of the turbulent Colorado River.

While visiting the Grand Canyon you can take an outside tour and have a chance to see the wildlife around the area with an interpretive ranger. These rangers know everything that they see in the wild and are happy to share their enthusiasm for it with everyone. For lunch you can have a picnic at the Grand Canyone National Park.

But walking and admiring the beautiful scenery is not all that you can do. For those of you who love and seek adventure you can always take a trip down the river. If you want to take 2 days or even a week you can enjoy these wonderful raft trips. The 1-2 day raft trips is full of a half-day, full-day, and overnight whitewater and smooth water trips that occur on the Colorado River. Some take place between Glen Canyon Dam and Lees Ferry (northeastern end of Grand Canyon), and others launch from Quartermaster or Diamond Creek (western end of Grand Canyon).

The 12 to 25 day noncommercial river trips are self-guided raft trips, sometimes referred to as private river trips. Permits for these trips are made available to the public through a weighted lottery.

So the next time you want to mix adventure with the beautiful scenery always consider how great it would be to stand and overlook the vastness of the Grand Canyon. The best time to visit and to see exactly how beautiful it is, would be to see it right as the sun sets.
